Elementor: Link to a specific part of a page

Most hyperlinks will take you to a new page right at the top of the screen, but sometimes you want the link to take you to a specific part of the page, perhaps half way down. To do this you need to add an “ID” attribute to the section. This is like giving your section a unique name which you can use whenever you want to call it. Here is how you do it in Elementor:

  1. Find the section that you want to link to
  2. Click on the “Advanced” tab
  3. In the first section called “Advanced” find the “CSS ID” field
  4. Type in a name for this section (for this example let’s use the word “companies”)

Once you have added the ID attribute you can now link to it from anywhere on your site and you can be directed to this section rather than arriving at the top of the page.

  1. Find the button or hyperlink you want to click in order to navigate to your section
  2. In the URL field, type in the address of the page followed by a forward slash, the hashtag symbol and then the name of your ID. For example if the address of the page was yourwebsite.com and your ID was named “companies” then the full address you would enter would be: yourwebsite.com/#companies

And that’s it. Now you have linked to a specific part of a page rather than just the page in general.
